Naples. Last evening, the State Police arrested a 22-year-old Moroccan man, illegally residing in the country, for conspiracy to commit robbery, assault, and resisting a public official. He was also reported for illegal entry and residence in the country.
The agents of the General Prevention Office, during a routine check in Piazza Bovio, noticed two girls asking for help and indicating two individuals nearby as responsible for a theft to the detriment of one of them.
The officers then intervened promptly and, after a struggle, managed to stop one of the two suspects, finding him in possession of the stolen wallet. The other man, after attacking the victim's boyfriend in an attempt to escape, managed to disappear.
The investigations confirmed that shortly before, at the corner between Piazza Bovio and Corso Umberto I, the suspect, together with his accomplice, had approached one of the women from behind and, with a rapid movement, had stolen her wallet from her backpack.
