The narcotics arrived from South America in containers on merchant ships at the port of Salerno.
This morning the Carabinieri of the Salerno Company dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to international drug trafficking.
At the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, they are executing a precautionary measure order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Salerno against 14 people who are members of a criminal association aimed at international drug trafficking.

In particular cocaine, hashish and marijuana transported by sea and destined for the Camorra clans of Campania but also for some 'ndrangheta gangs which arrive at port of Salerno became a key hub for the importation of narcotics from South America.
Of the 14 affected by the precautionary order, 11 ended up in prison and 3 under house arrest.

The blitz of the Carabinieri involves the eastern area up to the center of Salerno and some cities in the province. A helicopter from the Pontecagnano unit is also controlling the blitz in progress.
