The measure concerns an alleged top official of the organized crime active in the Mondragone area, accused of serious crimes, including extortion, attempted exorcism, with the aggravating circumstance of mafia. The same had already been hit, last May 16, by another precautionary measure for similar crimes.
The new precautionary measure is the result of an in-depth investigative activity conducted by the Carabinieri, which allowed them to reconstruct numerous episodes of extortion against local entrepreneurs and traders. Several victims finally found the courage to report the intimidations they had suffered, thus contributing to the consolidation of the evidence against the arrested person.
