A performance between testimonies of Grand Tour travellers and Neapolitan classics
“Grand Tour a Napoli” is a theatrical concert composed of readings, songs, pieces for musical trio and dialogues. These elements are taken from the cultured and popular European and Neapolitan literature between the second half of the eighteenth century and the end of the nineteenth century, in the testimonies of Naples and Campania of numerous special travelers.
These testimonies have been compared to bizarre, lively and evocative pages of Neapolitan authors such as the abbot Ferdinando Galiani and Matilde Serao and intertwined with pieces sung from the musical and poetic works of Gaetano Donizetti, Paolo Tosti, Pasquale Mario Costa, Guillaume Louis Cottrau, Raffaele Calace, Giuseppe Saverio Mercadante, Gabriele d'Annunzio, Salvatore Di Giacomo, Giovanni Paisiello.
The event will be held in the Sacristy of the Church of San Severo al Pendino in via Duomo 286, from Tuesday 26 to Saturday 30 November 2024 at 19:30 pm and admission is free until seats are taken.

This looks like a very interesting and culturally rich event. Neapolitan classical music is always fascinating, and the readings of travelers can be a great addition to better understand the history of the city. I hope to be able to go.
