The investigations conducted by State Police of the Police Headquarters Ascoli Piceno have led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators of several aggravated thefts, committed or attempted during the night hours in various commercial establishments (including hair salons and stationery shops) in Ascoli Piceno and in the municipalities of the province between the end of 2023 and the first months of 2024.
These are four people originally from Campania – three men and a woman, all Italian, around forty years old and resident in St. George in Cremano (NA). The investigative activities, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Ascoli Piceno, led to the issuance by the GIP of a custodial order in prison for the first three individuals and the obligation to report to the judicial police for the fourth.
The arrests were carried out in San Giorgio a Cremano in the early hours of Monday 4 November, by the Flying Squad of the Ascoli Piceno Police Headquarters, which conducted the investigations, with the support of colleagues from the Flying Squad of Napoli.
The investigation was launched following an aggravated theft that occurred in mid-January at a hair salon in Ascoli Piceno. On that occasion, the owner, reopening the shop early in the morning, discovered that unknown persons, after forcing the front door, had stolen all the equipment (such as hair dryers and straighteners) and beauty care products present in the salon.
These thefts caused serious economic damage to the victims, depriving them of the “tools of the trade” essential for their activity.
