Montecorice (Cilento) – A dramatic accident occurred this morning in San Donato, where a 38-year-old farmer was attacked and gored by a bull while inside a pen. Despite his serious injuries, the man managed to call for help, launching a complex operation to rescue him.
The Carabinieri of the Perdifumo station, the Municipal Police of Montecorice and an ambulance from Soccorso Valcalore immediately intervened on the spot. Given the isolated and difficult to reach position, the intervention of the 118 helicopter rescue was necessary, which transferred the breeder urgently to the “Ruggi” hospital in Salerno.
The man suffered serious injuries to his abdomen and chest and was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. Fortunately, despite the severity of his injuries, his life is not in danger. The authorities are investigating to clarify the causes of the accident and verify the dynamics that led to the bull's attack.
