This morning, the Carabinieri of the Nola Company, led by Captain Edgard Pica, gave a moment of joy and hope to the little patients hospitalized in the pediatric department of the Santa Maria della Pietà Hospital in Nola.
The initiative, promoted by the military of the Nola company, involved about ten children between the ages of three and seven, who were given toys and Christmas presents. A simple gesture, but of great meaning, which gave smiles and a pinch of serenity to those who will be forced to spend Christmas away from home.
Also present at the event was the hospital's medical director, Dr. Giuseppe Lombardi, who enthusiastically welcomed the initiative:
“It's really a pleasure also because I come from a family of Carabinieri and, having my “family” inside the hospital is a unique emotion. I also saw the light of those children when they saw the Carabinieri in uniform bringing them gifts. An indescribable feeling, I think that with this action we brought a caress and a smile to children less fortunate than others. I thank the Carabinieri and I hope that there will be other occasions like this”
The initiative represents a tangible example of solidarity, underlining the deep bond between the Arma and the community. Also present at the delivery of the gifts was Don Carlo Giuliano, parish priest of the hospital, who appeared visibly moved.
Captain Edgard Pica added:
“Closeness to people, especially those living in fragile situations, is an integral part of our mission. Today we are here not only as Carabinieri, but as people who want to offer a moment of serenity and joy to children and their families.”
