A homemade explosive device shook Castel San Giorgio in the middle of the night, at 2 am to be precise, causing significant damage to the town hall. The explosion triggered a fire, which was promptly tackled by the firefighters.
Upon arrival at the site, the police of the Mercato San Severino Company have started the investigation. They are currently examining the images recorded by the video surveillance cameras in the area to obtain more details on the incident.
This is not the first time that Castel San Giorgio has faced an episode of this type. On April 8, two years ago, another firecracker was exploded in front of the entrance to a building, the residence of the mayor Paola Lanzara, then another device in front of the house of the city councilor Giuseppe Alfano.
It is really worrying what is happening in Castel San Giorgio, we cannot continue like this with these explosions that put people in danger. We hope that the investigations will lead to something useful to stop these acts.
