Naples. "I will not be a candidate in Campania, and I am not available to be one." Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi stated this in an interview with Il Tempo, regarding rumors of his possible center-right candidacy for the presidency of the Campania Region.
"Previously," Piantedosi explains , "I've had difficulty expressing this so clearly because this question is always accompanied by praise for me, which I find bluntly dismissive. Praise for my work, I believe, is a prerequisite for my remaining at the Ministry of the Interior.
For two reasons. First: the center-right coalition has plenty of solutions on the territory to propose. Second: being at the Viminale, even with a thousand difficulties, and starting to see the positive results of what we are doing is my main objective”.
I read with interest the words of Minister Piantedosi, but I do not understand why he decided not to run. His reasons seem valid, but the doubt remains whether it is the right choice for the center-right.
