Venezia announces the arrival of Alessio Zerbin from Napoli: the attacking midfielder moves on loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
The news was made official by the Venetian club with an official press release. Zerbin expressed his enthusiasm for this new adventure: "I'm really happy to be here. The club and the coach really wanted me, showing great faith in me, and my goal is to repay them by giving my all. There's a lot of work to do, but I'm convinced that we'll give everything we have to reach the final goal", said the player.
Born in Novara on March 3, 1999, Zerbin took his first steps in football in the Inter Youth Sector, before joining Napoli in January 2017, where he stood out in the Primavera team. His professional debut took place in the 2018-19 season with Viterbese, with whom he won the Coppa Italia Serie C.
After formative experiences at Cesena and Pro Vercelli, Zerbin distinguished himself in the 2021-22 season with Frosinone in Serie B, scoring 9 goals in 31 appearances. The definitive leap came with Napoli: in the 2022-23 season Zerbin made his debut in Serie A and the Champions League, contributing to the third Scudetto in the history of the blue club. His performance in the Italian Super Cup was also memorable, with a brace in the semi-final against Fiorentina and a starting appearance in the final.
Last season, the midfielder played for Monza, making 13 appearances and providing one assist. Zerbin also played for the Italian national team. His debut with the senior team came on 7 June 2022, in the Nations League match against Hungary. Previously, he represented Italy U18, making 4 appearances and scoring one goal.

Zerbin's arrival at Venezia is good news, but we'll see how he adapts to the new environment. He has shown talent, but a loan with option to buy could be risky if he doesn't play well. I hope everything goes well.
