Naples – “The assault on the Circumvesuviana train that took place yesterday in Castellammare, where two rival fans clashed on the platform and inside an EAV train, is a very serious episode.
And that has put at risk the safety of hundreds of travellers forced to witness absurd and unjustified violence". This is what Assoutenti declares Campania, announcing the filing of a complaint with the prosecutor's office.
“We have decided to intervene to protect commuters and passengers who yesterday, at the Circumvesuviana station on Via Nocera in Castellammare di Stabia, were involved in a real assault that seriously compromised public safety,” says the president of Assoutenti Campania, Roberto Capasso.
“We will ask the Public Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata, which has territorial jurisdiction, to identify those responsible for this violence and to proceed against them for the crimes of interruption of public service, private violence and attack on transport safety”.
“It is shameful that in 2025 we still have to witness senseless violence related to football in Italy, involving the elderly, children and people whose only fault was being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” underlines the national president of Assoutenti, Gabriele Melluso.
“Expressing solidarity also with the Eav staff involved in this serious episode, we trust in the intervention of the authorities to identify and punish those responsible, but above all – he concludes – of the football clubs that must isolate and report the troublemakers”.
