An 24 year old from Castel Volturno, already known to the police, was arrested by the Carabinieri after a daring house burglary: with two accomplices who are still wanted, he managed to sneak into a house, forcing open a French window on the ground floor and stealing a rifle.
The alarm was raised when the homeowner, returning home, surprised the thieves. The criminals, frightened by the sirens of the Carabinieri cars, fled empty-handed, except for the stolen rifle.
Thanks to the images from the surveillance cameras and the precise description provided by the victim, the Carabinieri were able to identify and arrest the 24-year-old at his home. Despite a house search, the stolen rifle has not yet been found.
The arrested person was taken to prison and will have to answer for aggravated theft in a home and illegal possession of a firearm. Investigations are still ongoing to identify and arrest the accomplices.
