De Luca and De Laurentiis, skit at the Circolo Canottieri on Meloni and Trump

Irony, politics and smiles at Circolo Canottieri Naples, where the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, and the owner of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, were the protagonists of an exchange of jokes during the presentation of the book “The Carnation and the Shell” di Gianni Pittella.

During his speech, De Luca commented on the Prime Minister's recent trip Giorgia Meloni in the United States for the settlement of Donald Trump. “He did well to go to Washington”, the governor began, before criticizing the Prime Minister's behavior, accusing her of having been too accommodating towards “that crazy richest man in the world”. The reference, presumably, was to an important American entrepreneur, with De Luca stressing the importance of transmitting “examples of coherence and seriousness”.

The governor's words immediately sparked a smiling response from De Laurentiis, who took the floor to defend Meloni's decision: “Don’t tell me he shouldn’t have gone to America, he did a great job. The other Europeans were a bunch of morons and idiots for not going there.”.

Amid general hilarity, De Luca immediately counter-replied: "I said he did well to go, but kisses and hugs with the guy who uses heroin, has 11 children and 47 wives, that's not okay with me. We have to give examples of coherence and seriousness. Is everything really bought and sold? For me there are essential goods of national dignity".
