Vincenzo De Luca, president of the Campania Region, is determined to move forward. He reiterated this today in the press conference in which he explained his reasons against the Meloni Government's decision to challenge the regional law on the third mandate.
“The government’s challenge doesn’t change anything, we’re moving forward. My position doesn’t change one iota. Unlike other exponents of politicking politics, the starting and finishing point of my decisions is not my Roman career, but my family, the poor people, the concrete problems. We will use the months ahead of us having made it clear to everyone that nothing has changed. My position doesn’t change one iota”.
“The government’s decision is “contra personam,” said the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, at a press conference. “Does the writing we find in the courts still make sense: The law is equal for everyone? In our case, the law is not equal for everyone. This constitutional principle has been trampled upon.”
De Luca: “To the Government I say do not be afraid of the voters”
“I make this appeal to the government: do not be afraid. The things they have decided are out of fear, of the voters, perhaps even of De Luca. Open your hearts to hope and above all give citizens the opportunity to decide who will govern them. It is called democracy”.
“In Italy there is this hypocrisy: no one has any mandate constraints, there is no time constraint for anyone, except for one: the president of the Campania Region. How do you explain this?”.
“They explained it by climbing up the mirrors in different ways – says De Luca speaking of the choice announced yesterday by the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni-. They said that the president of Campania represents a monocratic power, but that is idiocy: the only monocratic power is that of the Pope, the president of the Region can be distrusted by the Regional Council and sent home. What monocratic power? These are attempts to climb the mirrors”.
"Campania is only an object of political market. None of those who spoke about the third mandate has even remotely spoken about what is useful to safeguard the program carried out by the Region and to avoid wasting precious years for the region".
“All those who have spoken about Campania without a title are united by their total indifference to people of flesh and blood, to the problems of the people, to the destiny of a territory – added De Luca -. For politicking politics, Campania is the object of a market and a political exchange”.
