On the occasion of the “Day of Remembrance”, to honor the victims of the foibe, on Monday 10 February 2025, at the Ridotto del Teatro Mercadante, two performances of the show “Memoria divisa” by Emma Cianchi will be held, at 19:00 pm and 21:00 pm.
Lo spettacolo
Conceived with Dario Casillo and Gilles Dubroca, it features Antonio Nicastro and is produced by Artgarage. “Memoria divisa” tells the story of the suffering and death linked to the events of the foibe and the “denied massacres” that affected the Italians of Venezia Giulia and Istria. It is a work that brings to light a part of history still unknown to many.
Emma Cianchi
“Memoria divisa” is a creation from 2009 – Cianchi says – and it is our first project, born from the collaboration with Gilles and Dario. The idea came from the need to tell what I had inside, deriving from the stories of my grandfather and my mother, who were part of a family of Julian-Dalmatian refugees who arrived in Naples after the war.”
The choreographer concludes: “This work, which continues to be performed over the years, especially on commemorative day, is an immersive performance, designed to involve the spectator, who will enter a space where he will be completely enveloped by sound and images.”
