Mugnano – Two robberies in a few minutes, in the middle of the evening and a few steps from the Mugnano roundabout, on the external Circumvallazione. The attackers were two criminals on a scooter, armed with a gun, who pulled up alongside passing cars to steal valuables from the drivers.
One of the episodes was filmed by a citizen with his cell phone: in the video you can clearly see the two robbers – on a scooter with a presumably counterfeit license plate – threatening a motorist and forcing him to hand over his watch.
The images, of strong impact, were sent to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Green-Sinister Alliance), who firmly denounced the escalation of violence.
Borrelli: “Situation out of control, drastic measures needed”
"Crime is now out of control," Borrelli said, "and a tough and immediate response is needed. These images are shocking and unacceptable. It is necessary to intensify controls and increase the presence of law enforcement on the territory.
At the same time, we need to invest in security with a widespread video surveillance system. Criminals must feel the heat on their necks: Naples and its province cannot be held hostage by criminal violence. Enough with mild interventions, citizens are afraid and ask for more protection”.
The episode reignites the debate on security in the Campania capital, where criminal raids continue to spread terror among residents.
This is a very worrying situation, these robberies have become too frequent and people no longer feel safe. The police must intervene more decisively to protect citizens.
