Soldiers from the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples have brought to light significant irregularities in a commercial activity located in Pollena Trocchia.
As part of an operation aimed at combating undeclared and irregular work, 21 “illegal” workers were discovered inside a textile processing plant.
The operation was conducted by the financiers of the Casalnuovo di Napoli Company, who carried out an inspection in a warehouse in the Vesuvian area. The inspected site is managed by a sole proprietorship engaged in the processing of fabrics, an activity started a few months ago.
The investigations revealed serious violations of labor, safety and welfare regulations. workers, including a foreign person, were employed in the sanitization and packaging of used clothing, operating in conditions that put their health at risk due to the absence of adequate measures for the healthiness of the premises.
The owner of the company was sanctioned with the so-called “maxi-sanction” related to irregular work, with a total potential penalty that can reach up to 245.700 euros. At the same time, a proposal for suspension of the activity was forwarded to the competent Labor Inspectorate, as provided for by Article 14 of Legislative Decree no. 81/2008.

It is important that the authorities monitor commercial activities to avoid abuses. However, I wonder if workers who have been caught illegally will have the necessary protection and if the owner of the company will have adequate consequences.
