Salvatore Sinagra has woken up from a COMA. After two weeks, the 30-year-old reopened his eyes at Las Palmes Hospital in Spain, where he was hospitalized following a violent attack in a bar in Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands.
“What are you doing here?” were the first words he uttered, addressed to his father Andrea and his brother Vito. It was a long-awaited moment for the family but at the same time a very delicate one. “Salvatore alternates moments of lucidity with moments of agitation, a common phenomenon in patients who wake up after a prolonged coma.
For him it is as if time has stopped, his brain is trying to reorganize information, reconstruct memories and regain control of reality" his family said in a note
. The young man is currently still in intensive care, being monitored by doctors and "if everything goes well, he could be transferred to another department in the next few days", it continues.
The person responsible for the attack on Sinagra, a 25-year-old, was arrested by the Guardia Civil. He allegedly confessed to having hit the young man from Favignana with a fist, without using other objects.
