Benevento – The one-year prison sentence for Saverio Sparandeo, 63, from Benevento, accused of tax evasion, was overturned in the second degree. The Court of Appeal of Bari pronounced the acquittal, establishing that “the fact does not exist”.
The contested episode dates back to March 26, 2016, when, according to the prosecution, Sparandeo left the therapeutic community of Castellana Grotte, where he was serving house arrest. Assisted by the lawyer Michele Ciruolo, the defendant was recognized as not having anything to do with the facts.

Reading the article, it seems interesting how the court overturned the conviction. I wonder if there are more details on the case that could better clarify Sparandeo's situation and his removal.
I also found the case strange, because the accusation seems to have no solid evidence. I hope that in the future more information will be published to understand well what really happened that day.
