Naples – An unprecedented event overwhelmed Naples yesterday evening, when the champions' parade – organised by Ssc Napoli in collaboration with the Campania Region, the Municipality of Napoli, Prefecture,
Police Headquarters and mobility operators – attracted over 350.000 fans along the seafront and more than a million people in the city during the days of celebrations. On board two buses that left from Molo Mergellina and arrived in Piazza Vittoria, the Azzurri players paraded amidst chants and flags, sealing the conquest of the fourth championship.
"We witnessed an epochal event," commented President Aurelio De Laurentiis. "Naples created a system: it was the triumph of civility and passion of an entire city and of millions of Neapolitans scattered around the world, who for two hours virtually found themselves on the bus with our players."
The success of the initiative was not limited to the city streets. Thanks to the partnership between the club, NVP and Rai, the parade was broadcast live nationwide on Rai 2 and, through Rai Italia, was broadcast in 170 countries, totaling an average of over 70 million viewers. From North America to Asia, from Africa to Oceania, images of the celebrations on the seafront were relaunched in the news of dozens of countries, including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, China, Japan, Australia and many others.
The response on social networks was also extraordinary: the club's official channels recorded more than 200 million views in the days immediately following the championship victory.
De Laurentiis wanted to underline the commitment of everyone: «From the club to the technical staff, to the team group and the many daily collaborators, everyone contributed to this extraordinary result. Naples experienced an unforgettable evening: the city demonstrated once again that it is at the center of world football».
