An initiative that unites culture, sport and community: this is what is coming to life in Boscoreale, with the recovery of the football field near the “Villa Regina”, one of the most emblematic Roman farms of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. The redevelopment project, underway in recent weeks, was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the Municipality of Boscoreale and the Angeloni company, which takes care of the greenery in the archaeological site. The project aims to give the neighborhood's kids and children a safe and usable green space, after a long period of abandonment.
“It was a pleasure to be able to help in a difficult moment that the Municipality was going through”, said the director of the Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, emphasizing that the redevelopment is not limited to cleaning, but extends to a real relaunch for the neighborhood. The idea of a soccer tournament to inaugurate the renovated field was immediately welcomed with enthusiasm: “I have already challenged Mayor Di Lauro, and I think it will be my turn to take the field too!”, added Zuchtriegel, inviting anyone who wanted to participate to contact the organization. The tournament will see teams composed of seven players, and it is expected that the boys of Naples Plan join the initiative.
Mayor Pasquale Di Lauro proudly commented on the collaboration, defining it “a beautiful example of synergy between institutions”, and recognized that giving back a soccer field to the neighborhood's youth is not just a matter of sport, but of social growth and aggregation. “I gladly accept the challenge on the field”, concluded Di Lauro, expressing his satisfaction for the moment of celebration that the initiative promises to offer to the local community.
