Napoli – Fifteen years of imprisonment for the boss Patrizio Bosti, 13 years for his daughter Flora, 12 years for his son Ettore and the same number for his son-in-law Luca Esposito.

These are the requests for conviction advanced by the Anti-Mafia District Directorate of Naples, at the end of the prosecution's closing speech by prosecutor Alessandra Converso, in the abbreviated trial in which the head of the Contini clan is accused together with his closest family members.

In addition to the convictions, the Prosecutor's Office has requested the confiscation of a multi-million dollar estate, estimated at approximately 16 million euros: a real fortune made up of companies, luxury cars, bank accounts, 4 million euros in cash and a string of jewels and watches of the highest value, among which a Patek Philippe for 370 thousand euros and a diamond necklace for 120 thousand euros.

The vault at Luca Esposito's house

The assets were seized in a hidden vault in the home of Luke Esposito, son-in-law of the boss and considered a key figure in managing the family's money. The treasure, the result of the clan's criminal activity, is considered proof of a standard of living well beyond any apparent income availability.

The trial is taking place before the preliminary hearing judge Federica Villano, and involves a large defense team: the lawyer Nicola Pomponio for Luca Esposito; Elisabetta Valentino and Leopoldo Perone for Patrizio and Flora Bosti; Andrea Imperato for Ettore Bosti.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the boss Patrizio Bosti – detained in high security – continued to maintain economic control of the clan even from prison, through a dense family and trust network.

The trial represents one of the most relevant strands of the investigation into the so-called Secondigliano alliance, the Camorra cartel that has dominated the Neapolitan criminal scene for decades. The sentence is expected in the coming weeks.
