GGiuseppina Sarni, the mother of the 15-year-old stabbed last night on a soccer field inside a campsite in Varcaturo, is crying and despairing: "I can't take it anymore."
The woman, in tears, paints a portrait of her seriously injured son in front of the microphones and cameras of TGR Campania. "I have my son before my eyes, and he tells me, 'Mom, don't worry, I'm fine, I've already called the ambulance.' My son is a good boy, very well-mannered, he goes to school and studies. He plays soccer, he's a champion, he's a goalkeeper."
And then the bitter reflection: "Enough, I can't take it anymore. If today he's my son, tomorrow he'll be someone else, and the day after tomorrow he'll be someone else again."
Besides being passionate about football, Giuseppe also wanted to attend the prestigious Nunziatella military school and often said he wanted to leave Naples. Now, after this episode and when he's better, this desire will become even more of a priority.

Carabinieri investigations revealed that, following a soccer match, a heated argument broke out between several young residents of the facility. During the altercation, one of them allegedly pulled out a knife, seriously injuring the victim.
The investigation allowed us to reconstruct the entire incident and identify the attacker: an 18-year-old with no criminal record, who in the meantime had returned home with his family, fearing possible retaliation from friends and relatives of the injured 15-year-old.
According to the police's reconstruction, the 18-year-old intervened to defend his brother, the victim's age, by pulling out a switchblade he was carrying in his fanny pack. During the struggle, the knife that struck the 15-year-old was then fired.
Last night, the Carabinieri arrested the 18-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in prison, awaiting trial.

Reading this article made me feel very sad. It's unthinkable that such bad things happen between young people. We need to do more to prevent violence, especially in places where young people meet and play.
