Naples and Campania weather today, August 27: temperatures up to 36 degrees.

Today, Thursday, August 27, will be a day of sunshine and intense heat in Naples and much of Campania. The forecast calls for stable weather conditions, with no precipitation and temperatures significantly rising compared to typical late-August levels. In Naples, highs are expected to be around 34-36°C, while the perceived temperature may be even higher due to humidity.

Sun and heat in the city

In the Campania capital, skies will remain mostly clear or partly cloudy. Available forecasts indicate a warm morning, with temperatures around 26°C in the early hours and above 30°C in the middle. No precipitation is expected, and the sea will generally remain calm.

The main problem will therefore be the heat, especially during the central hours of the day. In coastal areas, humidity could increase significantly during the evening and night, making recovery after a very hot day more difficult.

Heat wave alert

The Campania Region's Civil Protection Department has issued a heatwave warning, valid from 8:00 a.m. today, August 27, until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, in municipalities classified as moderate and high risk. According to the warning, temperatures could be 6-7°C above seasonal averages, with the most critical point expected on Friday, August 28.

The City of Naples has also published a bulletin dedicated to heat waves, drawing attention to the risks associated with the combination of high temperatures, humidity, strong solar radiation, and poor ventilation.

The situation in the rest of Campania

Heat will affect the region widely, with particularly harsh conditions along the coastal areas and in more urbanized areas. The day will be generally dry and stable, while in the evening and nighttime, humidity could exceed 60-70% on the coast, especially where the winds are weaker.

The trend also confirms that the peak of the heatwave has not yet been reached: even higher temperatures are expected for Friday, August 28, with values up to around 36-37°C in Naples according to the various forecast models consulted.

The advice of the Civil Protection

Given these conditions, we recommend avoiding sun exposure and physical activity during the hottest hours of the day whenever possible. It's important to drink water regularly, keep rooms cool and ventilated, and pay particular attention to the elderly, children, vulnerable individuals, and those with cardiovascular conditions. The Civil Protection Department also recommends limiting car travel during the hottest hours.

In short: Naples and Campania will experience a truly summery day today, with sunshine, intense heat, no rain, and increasing heat, especially along the coast. And the weather will remain hot in the coming days, with August 28th being identified as a particularly critical day.
