Naples Weather August 28st
Naples – A midsummer day begins today in Naples and the Campania region. High pressure continues to dominate, bringing mostly stable conditions, with sunshine, few clouds, and very high temperatures. For Naples, August 28th represents the hottest day of this phase, with temperatures likely to reach 35-37°C. The Ministry of Health's bulletin indicates a high of 38°C and a low of 28°C for the city, classifying the day as a Level 2 heatwave risk.
According to weather updates available this morning, Naples will remain clear to partly cloudy, with some cloud cover possible in the afternoon. No significant precipitation is expected. 3B Meteo indicates a high of 35°C, while IlMeteo forecasts temperatures of up to 36-37°C during the hottest hours.
The discomfort will be exacerbated by the heat, especially during the central hours. Low temperatures will remain high, around 26-28°C, making it difficult to even get some refreshment at night.
Campania, heat even more intense inland
The situation will be even more severe in the region's interior. According to 3B Meteo's forecast, temperatures could reach 35-40°C in the Campania hinterland, particularly between Caserta and Benevento. Along the coast, the sea will help moderate temperatures slightly, but humidity could make the heat particularly unpleasant.
Winds are expected to be generally light, shifting from the northeastern to the southwestern quadrants. Calm seas and favorable conditions for swimming complete the day's weather forecast.
Today's situation is part of a new phase of intense heat affecting central and southern Italy. According to RaiNews, August 28th is expected to be the peak day of the fifth heat wave of summer 2026, with the most extreme conditions expected especially in other areas of southern Italy.
Therefore, for Naples, the Ministry of Health's level 2 bulletin urges caution, especially for the elderly, children, and the most vulnerable. The Ministry recommends, in general during heatwaves, limiting exposure to high temperatures and adopting simple preventive measures.
A first, slight reduction is expected as early as Saturday, August 29, when highs in Naples are expected to drop to 34-35°C. The heat, however, will remain prominent over the weekend.
In short: today Naples is experiencing one of the hottest days of the summer, with sun, heat, no rain, and temperatures approaching 37-38°C. In inland Campania, temperatures could rise even higher. A beach day, then, but be careful during the midday hours and avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.
