Marcianise, mother extorted: man arrested

During a tense night in a home in Marcianise, the Carabinieri of the Mobile Radio Section intervened to quell a situation of serious family distress.

A man born in 1994, already known to law enforcement, was arrested red-handed on charges of aggravated and repeated extortion against his 56-year-old cohabiting mother. According to the investigation, the man threatened his mother with a kitchen knife and, in an attempt to obtain money, also damaged furniture and furnishings in the apartment.

The intervention of the military allowed the woman to be rescued, who suffered minor abrasions but refused medical attention. The knife used in the threats was seized and made available to the judicial authorities.

After the formalities, the man was transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison to await the validation hearing. His status will be evaluated during the proceedings, respecting the presumption of innocence and legal guarantees.
