A new fire of considerable size has broken out in Castel Volturno, characterised by a dense column of black smoke visible in an area of ​​the Volturno River.

The images released show a fire involving both abandoned materials and vegetation, highlighting the persistence of illegal practices related to waste burning and uncontrolled dumping in the area. Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green and Left Alliance, called for immediate action to identify the nature of the burned materials and assess the presence of hazardous substances through environmental inspections and sampling.
