Three new elevators were activated today at the Pozzuoli Solfatara station, an interchange station on the Naples Gianturco – Villa Literno line and the terminus of Metro Line 2.

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Italiane Group) has opened the facilities serving platforms 1 to 5 to the public with a total investment of approximately 330 thousand euros, making the station more accessible to all travellers.

Operating every day from 03.50 to 23.15 and compliant with the latest safety regulations, the elevators are managed remotely via a control room, each have a capacity of 630 kg, a capacity of up to 8 people and are equipped with external and internal cameras to ensure video surveillance.

The installation of the three elevators in the Pozzuoli Solfatara station is part of the intervention plan that RFI is adopting in Campania to improve accessibility to trains and remove architectural barriers, thus meeting the needs of people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
