TAmong the five hundred schools in Campania that, starting from the 2016-2017 school year, have offered children a series of cultural, social, artistic and sporting initiatives with the aim of improving the quality of schools in Campania, there is also the “Giovanni Da Procida” Scientific High School in Salerno, which presented itself with the Co-laboratoryspace (The Garden of Ideas) project. The aim of the project was to provide students with the laboratory skills required by Europe, which go beyond the normal educational offering. The response of the young people involved was positive: the two hundred and fifty participants assiduously attended the meetings of which they themselves, with their ideas and creativity, were active protagonists and conscious architects. The Salerno high school has divided its Scuola Viva POR – Regione Campania project, promoted by the regional government with the aim of strengthening the educational offering of the Campania school system, into 8 modules, some linked to communication, such as the design of a web radio (curated by Prof. Mariateresa Di Guglielmo) in partnership with Radio Castelluccio, which led to the creation of the school web radio “DA PROCIDA PLAY”, and the web magazine module (curated by Prof. Rosalba Pinto) which included the online publication and editorial management of the school blog “Class@work” in partnership with Costozero, a magazine of Confindustria Salerno; others linked to cultural and recreational activities within the school, including the choir (project “La scuola in..canta” tutor prof.ssa Maria Pontrandolfi) partner Associazione Corda in Accordo Onlus, and the theatre (project “Expressive languages of theatrical communication: from mime to dance theatre”, tutor prof.ssa Serenella Sforza) partner Dispac UniSa. The project also included the creation of new learning methods, with the project “Learning in Relation” (tutor Prof. Paola Calvello) partner Associazione Duna di Sale, Accademia Italiana and AGAPE; and a mathematical “look” at reality with the project “Mathematics everywhere” (tutor Prof. Luana Desiderio) partner University of Perugia - Department of Mathematics. Furthermore, to increase the educational offer, in the scientific field a path on the dyeing properties of plants has been developed thanks to the project “Fili a colori” (tutor prof.ssa Paola Pedretti) partner “Associazione I colori del Mediterraneo”, “Naturalmente colore srls” green start up, spin off of the UniSa-Difarma university, and the project Bibliolife (tutor prof.ssa Carmen Della Rocca) on the organization and management of a library to be opened to the territory, partner Biblioteca Provinciale di Salerno. Finally, with the project “Embedded Systems” (tutor prof. Massimo Merola), linked to the learning of robotics, the students, after having defined the C and C++ programming commands, created small robots with intelligent guidance sensors that recognize the path followed by the DIEM – UniSa. The principal of the Da Procida High School, Annalaura Giannantonio, also highlighted the excellent results achieved by the educational programs of the Salerno institute. She is proud of the intentions of supporting the middle school students and of the various social events held in the area, such as the performances of the school choir in support of the Pediatrics Department of the Ruggi D'Aragona Hospital and of the "Cooperativa Sociale", a city association for disabled people. The coordinators of the Scuola Viva project, Mariateresa Di Guglielmo and Letizia Speranza, in fact, underline the high value of the workshops set up and the importance of involving the territory during the countless events held, characterised by the participation of well-known personalities.
such as the famous speaker of Radio Kiss Kiss, Pippo Pelo, and the opening seminars of the Web Radio “Da Procida Play” and the intervention of representatives of the Region and Confindustria Salerno for the presentation of the results of the blog Class@Work.
