In Casandrino the Carabinieri arrested 7 people for trafficking and illicit possession of narcotics, theft and extortion.

This morning, as part of an investigation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North, the Carabinieri of the Giugliano in Campania Company executed a precautionary measure order, issued by the GIP at the Court of Naples North, against 7 people (of which 2 in prison, 4 under house arrest and 1 under obligation to report to the PG), aged between 21 and 32, residents of Casandrino, held responsible, to varying degrees, for the crimes of trafficking and illicit possession of narcotics, theft and extortion.

The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Grumo Nevano Station between September and December 2019 through the installation of hidden cameras and telephone interceptions, have allowed - also thanks to numerous observation and shadowing services - to verify a regular and constant drug dealing activity carried out by today's suspects. In particular, numerous episodes of sale of narcotic substances (hashish and cocaine) were identified and documented in two drug dealing areas in the municipality of Casandrino.

The investigative activity also allowed to collect multiple pieces of circumstantial evidence, confirmed by the GIP who issued the provision, in relation to the conduct carried out by the suspects for the crimes attributed to them. In particular: 1) on one occasion, they made serious threats towards a buyer who had failed to pay the price for the purchase of the narcotic substance; 2) they committed, at a betting agency in the municipality of Casandrino, an aggravated theft amounting to €7.600.
