Army soldiers involved in Operation “Safe Roads” made an arrest for receiving stolen goods in Casandrino.
During a patrol within the Campania Group, the soldiers noticed three stopped vehicles with two individuals intent on exchanging spare parts. One of the vehicles showed signs of forced ignition, raising the suspicion of a theft.
Law enforcement was promptly alerted and, after further checks, confirmed that one of the suspects was a repeat offender and the car was stolen. As a result, the man was arrested and will face trial for receiving stolen goods.
Operation “Safe Roads”, launched by the Italian Army in 2008, aims to support the Police Forces throughout the country. The initiative focuses on public safety and the fight against illegal activities through a widespread presence of men and vehicles.

The 'Safe Roads' operation is important for safety, but I wonder if the military has received adequate training for these checks. It is essential that each arrest is made carefully to avoid mistakes.
