“Invitalia has said it is ready to enter as an investor in the relaunch project of the Naples site but Whirpool continues not to remove the October 15 trap”
"Today at the Ministry of Economic Development, Invitalia said it was ready to enter as an investor in the relaunch project of the Naples site on the condition that there is a transfer of the company and not of individual assets. For its part, Whirpool continues not to remove the October 15 deadline for the dismissal procedure, by which time it is evidently not possible to expect either the establishment of the investor consortium, or even the finalization of the transfer contract. A concrete step by the company is needed, or the workers will pay the price for this irresponsible attitude of the multinational". Fim, Fiom and Uilm state in a joint note.
To the Government, they underline, "we ask to maintain the precise commitment to establish the consortium, to illustrate the industrial plan, to let Invitalia join without ifs and buts, as well as to set a time frame within which all this can happen. We ask Whirlpool to withdraw from the hateful intention of proceeding with the layoffs and to grant the necessary time for discussion, consistently with the willingness that it has repeatedly expressed in words during negotiations and with what the Government itself has requested".
Since the next meeting on October 14 will be decisive by its very nature, they conclude, "we ask for the presence of the political level, of the ministers Giorgetti and Orlando of the vice-minister Todde. In conjunction with the meeting the workers of Naples will demonstrate at the headquarters of the MiSe in Rome".
