Caserta. As part of the strengthening of the general prevention and territorial control activities carried out by the Corps to combat illicit trafficking in general, with particular regard to the illegal trade in fireworks as the Christmas period approaches, the Provincial Command of Caserta has ordered a widespread intensification of the control services implemented throughout the province.
In this context, the military personnel belonging to the Caserta Group, following an info-investigative activity resulting from the monitoring of the Marketplace of the popular social network Facebook, discovered a thriving online trading activity of prohibited fireworks (such as “onions” and “rendini”), managed by a subject from Caserta.
The service activity allowed the immediate identification of the seller and, following a house search carried out in Portico di Caserta, the seizure of approximately 200 illegal firecrackers, highly dangerous considering the chemical substances used for their manufacture, ready to be sold, for a total weight of over 15 kg.
The person responsible was reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere for the crimes of illegal trade in explosive materials, failure to report explosive materials and prohibition of selling explosives without a prefectural license.
The service activity is the first seizure carried out by the Caserta Group's Finance Police in view of the upcoming Christmas holidays, confirming the Corps' constant commitment in combating the illicit trade of dangerous products in the absence of the required authorizations.
