In particular, the scammer, pretending to be her nephew, had contacted her by telephone announcing that a person would soon deliver a package to her in exchange for the payment of a sum of money.
At that moment, right outside his home, a relative of his, having noticed the scam in progress, intervened and chased the criminal away.
On Thursday afternoon, the police, thanks to the descriptions provided and the images from the city's video surveillance, tracked down the man in Via Provinciale per Anacapri, identifying him as a 30-year-old from Caivano with a criminal record, and reported him for attempted fraud.
