Naples, De Luca: “Emergency room chaos is a national problem. The situation tends to worsen”
“After the emergency recorded last week at the Cardarelli hospital (Naples), we had the opportunity to verify that the criticality is for the whole of Italy. The problem in the emergency rooms has exploded throughout Italy, because there are no doctors in these facilities.
A few days ago we held a competition for emergency room doctors, no one participated. The Ministry of Health has decided that medical staff spending must be the same as in 2004 minus 1,4%.
It is evident that with retirements there is great suffering. We have verified that the last attempt of media aggression to the Campania health system has come to nothing.
In the meantime, we are waiting for conclusive answers from the Ministry of Health, because the situation tends to worsen".
The president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, said this in a live broadcast on social media.
