Yesterday, the agents of the Secondigliano Police Station, of the Naples Air Border Police – Capodichino and personnel from the Municipal Police - Airport Operations Unit, with the support of the Tourist Police Operations Unit and the Campania Crime Prevention Department, carried out an extraordinary territorial control service in the Secondigliano neighborhood and at Capodichino airport to combat the phenomenon of illegal public transport.
During the operation, 114 people were identified, 27 of whom had a police record, 65 vehicles were checked, 2 of which were subjected to administrative detention for having used a vehicle not intended for such use for rental with driver.
Furthermore, the operators administratively seized a taxi because it was uninsured and the driver had his license to practice the profession revoked and was reported to the Office of Non-Scheduled Public Transport of the Municipality of Naples.
Furthermore, the police reported 7 taxi drivers to the Public Transport Office of the Municipality of Naples for having picked up people outside of the queue, outside of the parking lot, for not having displayed the fare list and because a vehicle in their use was not suitable for carrying out public service.
Finally, 14 violations of the Highway Code were contested for lack of insurance coverage, for having violated the rules on taxi licensing, and for not having a professional qualification certificate (CAP).
