The first section of the new line 7, from Monte Sant'Angelo to soccavo, where there is the interchange with the Circumflegrea, is 95% completed.
This is the estimate provided by Eav, a regional holding company for public transport. The company announces that the new Monte Sant'Angelo station will be opened within the first half of next year.
“The construction – Eav reports – is almost finished, except for some parts of the power supply systems and access control systems that are affected by serious delays in supplies caused by the ongoing international war and economic events” but both supplies should be available by December. In November, the operation to move the second work by the artist Kapoor from the ex Coop square to the second entrance of the station on Viale Traiano will also begin.
Immediately after, the final operations of installing the systems will begin, as well as the start of testing with the inspectors of the Ansfisa Control Agency. For the Parco San Paolo station, construction activities are underway for the main structures which, “due to their high number and their complexity of execution”, require special machinery and the need for particular safety measures.
In the meantime, "with the aim of alleviating the inconvenience to the neighborhood by freeing up areas and compressing the time dedicated to these operations as much as possible", Eav is starting discussions with the Municipality of Naples to request permission to extend the working days until 22 p.m. The remaining part of the line has been designed up to the new location of the station on Via Terracina, now closer to the San Paolo hospital.
. The conference of services is underway, which is expected to close in the next 45 days and, following the same, the construction activities will be started. For the continuation beyond Terraccina, strategic discussions are underway with the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples.
