The super drug dealer Raphael Imperial he wanted to make one last move and then “retire”.
This is what emerges from the investigation by the Reggio Calabria DDA which last week notified him in prison of a new order for international drug trafficking together with 35 other people including well-known exponents of the 'ndrangheta.
He and his partner, that Bruno Carbone of Fuorigrotta, another global cocaine broker, have exchanged thousands of chats and conversations in Spanish, English but also in Neapolitan over the last few years. The news is reported by Leandro Del Gaudio in today's Il Mattino newspaper, which tells a series of unpublished episodes of the criminal history of lellullio 'o parente or lelluccio ferrarelle da Castellammare di Stabia financier of the Camorra war in Scampia in favor of the secessionists of the Beloved-Pagan and related families.
A shrewd drug entrepreneur and lover of luxury and the good life, he knew he was being intercepted despite all the technical precautions taken, he naturally spoke in code using names like Pentagon or Pluto.
The other day, defended by criminal lawyers Massimo Caiano and Maurizio Frizzi, has availed himself of the right to remain silent. He is accused of having organized a cocaine trafficking from the Colombian port of Turbo to Gioia Tauro, with a European stopover in Holland. A traffic conducted together with the alleged Calabrian partner Bartolo Bruzzaniti.
From the interceptions of chats, text messages and conversations it emerges that there are three problems to solve: bribing the customs officials; finding the people in charge of positioning the blocks of cocaine; guaranteeing a European port that is proof against controls. He says bruzzaniti: “We need to create a twin container with real bananas… I moved half of Colombia to achieve this result”. And Imperiale in return asks: “And what happens if some (honest) employees start checking the container?”. And without being asked, the 'ndrangheta boss replies: “We must guarantee a golden pension to the Customs official…”. Then Imperial and Coal discuss the project: “God willing, we'll crown this Turbo, if it goes well Turbo will take 12,13 million bro'”.
The interception dates back to February 22, 2021, and Imperiale tries to reassure his interlocutor: "But let's try to be strong, we are only at the beginning, we have to do 30 t (tons?) this year, it is important that we do 30 t first, and then before any other stress we can also talk about retiring, we have done so much to get to where we are. We cannot give up now".
Imperiale complained that his name was at the top of the Neapolitan wanted list
And from what was his golden period of hiding in Dubai, Lelluccio da Castellammare confirms to Carbone: “That's 1920 blocks of cocaine” and the Fuorigrotta broker replies: “We need a triple of this…”, who responds with a “maybe”. Then he lets himself go with a comment on Italian politics regarding the mafia and fugitives, after learning that his name is at the top of the wanted list in Naples: “There are no more fugitive bosses left; in Sicily there is no more crime, the truth is that they put two names at random (including his) on the wanted list, but they do it only to eat up tax money…”.
