land of fires: the Italian Army and the Police Forces, thanks to the constant monitoring of the territory, have once again dealt a severe blow to the illegal disposal of special waste. Thanks to a complex and effective organization, put in place by the guardians of law and order and security of the State, which cross-references data from ground patrols with those of the most sophisticated surveillance systems, it was possible to map and analyze the territory and data.
The constant and incessant commitment of women and men of the State has brought important results in the identification and repression of environmental crimes and the illegal disposal of waste that are at the basis of environmental pollution and the phenomenon of fires. Coordinated and directed by Vice Prefect Filippo Romano, the operators and specialists of the Army and the Finance Police of the ROAN have identified sites, areas and companies that have been checked in the context of a large and widespread inter-force operation carried out between 27 and 29 September.
On September 27, in the municipality of Parete, in the Caserta area, the Army and the Metropolitan Police seized, for multiple crimes and irregularities, a mechanical workshop, reported and fined over 176 thousand euros, furthermore on September 28, in Acerra, units of the Army and the Forestry and Territorial Carabinieri, checked another mechanical workshop, issuing fines of approximately 70 thousand euros for irregularities in the management of special waste.
On the same day, September 28, the Bersaglieri of the Third Regiment, with the Formicola Forestry Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the Provincial and Municipal Police of Caserta, the Metropolitan Police of Naples, supported by officials from ASL, ARPAC and ICQRF, seized a commercial activity, confiscated a vehicle and imposed administrative fines of approximately 250 thousand euros, as well as reporting two people in the municipalities of Caserta and Casagiove.
On September 29, in the metropolitan area of Naples, the “Guide” Cavalry of the “Campania” Group, the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza of Nola, the Carabinieri of Cicciano and Tufino, the Forestry Corps of Roccarainola and the Metropolitan Police of Naples, with the support of ICQRF officials, seized two more businesses, reported 2 people and imposed administrative fines of approximately €158 in the municipalities of Casamarciano, Comiziano and Tufino.
These important results that the Army and the Police Forces, operating within the scope of Operation “Terra dei Fuochi” have brought, also in the last week, are the State's response to the requests of citizens, businesses, local institutions and associations, in the name of respect for the environment and legality.
