“Our days are numbered, like many condemned to death”: These are the angry words uttered by a worker of the multinational Jabil outside the gates of the Marcianise plant.
Since yesterday, a permanent sit-in with an all-out strike of all the workers has been underway to protest against the decision of the US company - an electronics giant with 250 thousand employees spread across the world - to fire 190 out of 440 employees of the Caserta production site.
The anguish of time running out is visible on the faces of the many workers present at the picket; in fact, Tuesday 31 January the redundancy fund, already extended several times, expires and Jabil will be able to start sending out the dismissal letters.
“Local and national politicians and institutional representatives are only now starting to take action, when it is already too late.“, says a worker with two children.
Tomorrow, as an extreme form of mobilization - in recent months there have been a series of sit-ins and demonstrations by Jabil workers outside the buildings of power, from the Prefecture of Caserta to the headquarters of the Region in Naples, passing by the US Consulate, also in Naples, and the Ministry of Economic Development in Rome - there will be a procession that will wind through the streets of Caserta, starting from the train station (at 9.30:XNUMX) and arriving in Piazza Vanvitelli where the Prefecture is located.
The parliamentarians of Caserta and the territorial political forces were invited to the demonstration.
