“Suite cilentana”, the latest creation of the poet Giovanni Bracco, (Il Bulino, Rome), lives in the encounter between the word and the figurative works of the conceptual artist Michele Marinaccio, which vibrate with the poetic expression. The harmony between the artists has been nourished by suggestions and evocations, between light, shadow and reflections on the themes of existence: above all the light which, as happens with the olfactory dimension, is capable of inducing in the observer a multiplicity of sensations in the space of a few moments.
The light, with its energy, generates shapes immersed in the darkness, silhouettes with dubious contours, frozen in silent places.
Most of the poems, inspired by the enchantment of Cilento, were written in July 2021 in Ogliastro Marina. The compositions form a Suite in which the titles, of musical derivation, which recall the ancient collections of compositions and dances, are drawn from indications contained in the verses.
Lullaby
With the soul
in a mess like a landfill
I set sail,
I pulled the oars back into the rowlocks.
Towards Punta Licosa,
the Tyrrhenian Sea has begun to breathe
like singing on a single vowel
inside the muffled cry of a mother.
Nocturne No. 3
to Roberto Deidier
Consider the slow metamorphosis
of the prickly pear cladode in the sea
or of the agave leaf
in a thick spider web, perhaps good
to imprison dreams while it evaporates
the silent night,
but not to hold back the becoming,
the end of a hug,
the crumbling stone wall.
A train at dawn, voices. Already distant
behind another abandonment.
