A stolen boat from Gaeta was found yesterday morning in San Giovanni a Teduccio, a neighborhood in the eastern part of Naples. A patrol boat supplied to the Guardia di Finanza naval station in Napoli he noticed a vessel that due to its mooring method attracted the attention of the military.
Once aboard the vessel, the financial police found clear signs of forced entry and, after examining what had been abandoned, with the help of new technologies installed on the vessels that allow for the consultation of databases directly from on board, the suspicions of the military were confirmed, as the vessel had been stolen the previous night in the port of Gaeta.
This is the second lightning discovery made in the area of Saint John as only two days before another boat stolen the previous night in Amalfi had been recovered. After the usual procedures, both motorboats were returned to their respective owners. Investigative activities are underway to trace the perpetrators of the theft.
The activities described above are part of the functions assigned to the Guardia di Finanza as the only Police Force at sea and to which sea users can also turn using the public utility number 117.
