The mayor of Pollena Trocchia: “Take into account the social dangerousness of those arrested”
The father of the 10-year-old girl who was shot in the head by two young men the other evening in front of a bar in Sant'Anastasia is "very upset". He reports Charles Esposito, mayor of Pollena Trocchia, municipality of residence of the family unit that came under fire.
A family friend, Esposito contacted the little girl's father this morning: the child is out of danger but still in the intensive care unit of theSantobono hospital di Napoli where yesterday he underwent two delicate operations.
"He is very tried - the mayor underlined - of course the concern remains until the canonical 72 hours of observation are over so that the little girl is considered truly safe. We pray that the situation evolves positively and we can do nothing but gather around the entire family".
Esposito also expressed satisfaction with the arrest of the two young men accused of the attempted murder of the little girl and her parents, who were slightly injured. “I am happy,” continued the mayor, “that these two criminals have been brought to justice, but I hope, above all as a citizen, that it is real justice, that takes into account not only the accusations, but the modus operandi of these people, and takes into account their social dangerousness.
And I also find this feeling among my fellow citizens – concluded Esposito – who today certainly have more confidence in the work of the police, but among them there remains the dismay about what happened”.
Il Mayor of Sant'Anastasia calls the prefect
“The Prefect of Naples called me and I told him that Sant'Anastasia is a quiet town, but unfortunately we too have a problem of juvenile deviance and together with the associations, parents, and the police, we must question ourselves to contain and address these problems”.
The mayor of Sant'Anastasia said this, Carmine Esposito, who wrote to the Prefect of Naples to ask him for help in ensuring safety.
“I was able to tell him that in our territory as elsewhere – he added – there is a clear problem of youth deviance that must be contained and addressed. We will speak again in the next few days”.
"It is clear - Esposito specified - that this is not the case for these two individuals, both not from Sant'Anastasia, arrested and already known to the police. I am very satisfied with the excellent, rapid and precise work of the Carabinieri who were able to identify them immediately thanks to our video surveillance system".
Finally, the mayor said that yesterday evening he also heard from the father of the injured little girl. “I was able to express my full solidarity to him – he concluded – and I told him that our administration is at their complete disposal. Of course he is still very tired, and I hope to be able to meet his family as soon as the little girl is better.”
