Evacuation drills begin in the Campi Flegrei area hospitals in case of strong earthquakes due to bradyseism or eruption.
Tomorrow, October 6th, from 11am to 13pm, there will be a test at the San Giuliano hospital of the Municipality of Giugliano and at San Giovanni di Dio in Frattamaggiore. On Saturday, October 8, again from 11:13 to XNUMX:XNUMX, there will be an evacuation drill at the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli.
Along with the start of evacuation drills, the preparation of the official plan that the health committee is preparing to be implemented in case of danger also begins. The committee is composed of the general director of Health, Nino Postiglione, and the general directors of ASL Napoli 1 Ciro Verdoliva, ASL Napoli 2 Mario Iervolino and ASL Napoli 3 Giuseppe Russo.
The committee, which is coordinated by Verdoliva, is also examining all the health facilities in the territories concerned. It is in fact considered "necessary to proceed urgently with the reconnaissance of all the health and social-health facilities that insist on the territory of competence, specifying the number of active beds by discipline and by intensity of care, the maximum number of patients that can be hosted and anything else necessary to prepare alternative care solutions in case of need".
In recent days, the Region has established that this reconnaissance must be started as soon as possible and will thus be completed by the evaluation of the degree of seismic vulnerability of the structures.
The Campania Region regulation regarding danger provides for the movement of patients hosted in health or social-health facilities that must be evacuated and, if necessary, hospitalization in alternative facilities in pre-alarm phase II, the activity to ensure the continuity of health care services and in particular of theemergency and urgency, in pre-alarm phase II and in alarm phase III, but also the continuity of healthcare services in the twinned Regions and autonomous Provinces for subjects resident or domiciled in the Municipalities of the Red Zone to be evacuated in alarm phase III, not hospitalised in healthcare or social-healthcare facilities.
Evacuation drills
The evacuation tests of the hospitals of Campi Flegrei will be conducted with the utmost attention and caution, in order to verify the capacity of the structures to evacuate patients quickly and safely.
The tests will be conducted in collaboration with the police force, firefighters and Civil Protection volunteers.
The official plan
The official plan that the health committee is preparing to be implemented in case of danger includes a series of measures to ensure continuity of health care for patients in case of emergency.
The measures envisaged by the plan include:
The movement of patients hosted in health or social-health facilities that must be evacuated and, if necessary, hospitalization in alternative facilities;
The activity to ensure the continuity of health care services and in particular of emergencies and urgency;
The continuity of healthcare services in the twinned Regions and Autonomous Provinces for subjects resident or domiciled in the Municipalities of the Red Zone to be evacuated.
The reconnaissance of health facilities
The survey of the health facilities in the affected territories is aimed at collecting useful information for the preparation of the official plan.
The information that will be collected includes:
The number of active beds by discipline and by intensity of care;
The maximum number of patients that can be accommodated;
The degree of seismic vulnerability of structures.
The survey will be completed by next November.
