The officers of the Patrimonial Prevention Measures Section of the Anti-Crime Police Division of the Naples Police Headquarters have executed the seizure order of assets aimed at confiscation, pursuant to the anti-mafia prevention legislation, issued by the Court of Naples - Prevention Measures Section, against Girolamo Scafuro, aged 45.
He is a leading member of the Ferone gang, active in the Neapolitan municipalities of Arzano, Casavatore and surrounding areas – an offshoot of the Moccia di Afragola Camorra clan – especially in the funeral services sector, where he appears to have established a regime of substantial monopoly.
Qualified dangerousness is attested by various definitive convictions for complicity in extortion aggravated by mafia methods, illicit competition aggravated by mafia methods, attempted aggravated theft, military theft, by virtue of which he had been subjected, since last January, to special surveillance with the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence for a period of 3 years.
On the proposal of the Naples Police Chief, the Judicial Authority issued a seizure order for the assets, which were actually available to the man, even if formally registered in the name of his family members, purchased during the period in which he expressed his dangerousness.
In addition to several residential real estate units, financial relationships and 2 companies operating in the funeral services sector, active in the municipality of Arzano and already recipients of anti-mafia interdiction measures issued during 2022 by the Prefect of Naples, were seized. The overall value of the assets seized amounts to approximately two million euros.
