"Following the latest news in the local press, we express satisfaction for the action of the judiciary against the crime of usury and our solidarity with the entrepreneurs who have found the courage to report it. Usury remains a scourge that, especially after the crisis caused by the pandemic, still grips many small businesses in economic difficulty".
He declares it in a note Achilles Capone, provincial secretary of Claai Napoli, the association of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises, regarding the case of the entrepreneur from Soccavo who fell victim to loan sharks after the crisis linked to Covid.
“Claai has long since implemented associative tools, such as the Confidi (collective credit guarantee consortia) – Capone continues – to provide adequate advice on the matter. Furthermore, the Confidi use the Anti-usury Fund, established by article 15 of law 108/1996, aimed at making it easier for companies in economic difficulty to access it”.
“The Fund established at the Treasury Department – underlines the provincial secretary Claai – grants, through the Confidi, state guarantees to facilitate access to credit for companies in difficulty in order to prevent the risk of usury.
The gravity of the current situation requires a combined and synergic action between the police, the judiciary and associations and economic instruments such as Confidi, in addition, necessarily, to entrepreneurs in crisis who must find the courage to report it.
"The hope is that after the events of the last few days the spotlight on the phenomenon will not be turned off, that the repressive action against crime will continue and that the right attention will be paid to those who report. As Claai - he concludes - we are available to do our full part".
