Starting in January 2024, the Professional Qualification Course for Art Gardener for Historic Gardens and Parks will begin.

The project is funded by the Campania Region and organized by the training organization Bridge in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, the company Ream (specialized in green maintenance), and with the support of Il Tulipano, a social cooperative company already involved in social agriculture projects with children affected by autism and/or cognitive disabilities.
The course, lasting 600 hours, will be held mainly in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, known for its long-term investments in the management, maintenance and enhancement of the greenery and landscape of the archaeological areas.
The aim of the training is to develop professional skills
The Archaeological Park has a dedicated nursery, considered an agricultural study laboratory, which focuses on the production of “ancient” crops. The training objective is to develop professional skills to intervene in the conservation, renovation, maintenance and restoration of historic gardens and parks, public or private, respecting the original forms and enhancing their historical, cultural, architectural, environmental and landscape characteristics.
The course, free of charge, will include 150 hours of theoretical lessons at the Pompeii and Naples offices, 150 hours of online training, 120 hours of laboratory work and 180 hours of internship at the Pompeii Archaeological Park and local companies.

The program of lessons will include topics such as botany, agronomy, landscape, archaeology, restoration, survey, cultivation techniques, safety, information technology and management practices. At the end of the course, a certificate will be issued enabling the exercise of the green maintenance activity, in accordance with article 12 of law number 154/2016 and the agreement of the State-Regions conference of 22 February 2018.
