On the eve of the match between the Brighton , Roma, in the Europa League, was marred by a brutal attack on two English fans, which took place in the capital in the last few hours. The unfortunates, who had come to the capital to watch the match at the Olympic stadium, were attacked and stabbed for the purpose of robbery in via Monte Polacco, in the Rione Monti district.
The police of the Viminale police station immediately intervened at the scene of the attack to manage the situation. According to the first available information, the two English fans were approached by a group of seven individuals with their faces covered in the vicinity of Via Cavour. Subsequently, they were chased, surrounded and then stabbed in the legs, also suffering the theft of a fanny pack containing wallets and documents.
The 28-year-old, struck by three light stab wounds to the left thigh, was transported with a yellow code to the San Giovanni hospital. In the meantime, the other 29-year-old fan was taken by 118 to the Policlinico Umberto Primo, presenting several stab wounds to the right thigh. Investigations are already underway to identify and prosecute those responsible for this vile attack.
