On the occasion of the Sunday Mass of March 10 at 20 pm at the parish of Santa Maria Incoronatella in the Pietà dei Turchini in Naples, the Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi will be performed, a renowned composition from the sacred Baroque repertoire.
The San Leonardo Polyphonic Choir of Procida, directed by Maestro Aldo de Vero, will accompany the solo voices of Michela Barbiero, Patrizia Esposito and Rosaria Lauro, together with the organist Sara Puglia and a string quartet. L
The show, already applauded in Procida and Lacco Ameno, offers an unprecedented stage version of the opera, enriched by handcrafted costumes and evocative visual elements. The Stabat Mater composed by Pergolesi in 1734, inspired by the pain of the Madonna for the death of Jesus, will be reinterpreted in a new stage key by the passion of the Coro Polifonico San Leonardo, offering the public an engaging and exciting experience.
The performance, enriched by scenographic and luminous moments, fits perfectly into the period of Lent, with its spiritual charge and the timeless beauty of this composition that continues to inspire artists and musicians from all over the world.
