Six hours of surgery to save the life of a dog skinned alive in Poggioreale, near the former burglary, by two individuals of about thirty years old.
The horrifying episode occurred yesterday evening, and only thanks to the intervention of an animal rights volunteer was the dog saved from her terrible fate.
The animal, now hospitalized in a veterinary clinic, underwent a six-hour surgery. Despite the care received, the dog will have to face a long convalescence and several blood transfusions before being discharged.
Stella Cervasio, president of the association 'Animal day', has already communicated her availability to adopt her as soon as she finishes her convalescence.
Emanuela Caturano and Flora Rinaldi, the volunteers of the association 'Le amiche di Lu' who intervened to save the dog's life, filed a complaint this morning with the Carabinieri command of San Giovanni a Teduccio.
Borrelli: “Bringing criminals to justice”
“The two dangerous criminals who committed this barbaric outrage must be brought to justice as soon as possible,” commented Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who is following the case closely. “Anyone who can provide information useful for tracking them down should report it, even anonymously. We cannot allow these individuals to get away with such an aberrant crime.”
According to witnesses, they were two adults who spoke a Campanian dialect and inflicted these atrocities on the dog with extreme skill and accuracy.
“I hope that a relentless hunt will take place throughout the area in the interest of the safety of the animals and also of the residents themselves,” Borrelli added. “I thank the volunteers who showed great courage and promptness in helping the dog and in reporting this crime without hesitation, giving us all an extraordinary example of civility and love for animals.”
